Our state-of-the-art Facilities allow students to experiment in a wide variety of projects and media, such us Digital and 3D Printing , Textiles , or Wood . With a faculty of active artists, critics and curators, a distinguished roster of guest lecturers and various exhibition opportunities , the department prepares students to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing field head on. During their first year, BFA Fine Arts students take a general survey of world art and literature along with six-hour Foundation studio classes designed to build essential technical skills in a variety of media. In their second and third years, they explore Painting , Photography , Sculpture , Printmaking , Video Art and digital narrative. In the fourth year, they are given their own studio space, where they meet with a team of faculty members for discussion, critique and weekly feedback. Inspiring Faculty Students have access to more than 100 instructors in the SVA BFA Fine Arts department, a number unmatched in size and excellence anywhere else.
